I am a Bendigo based yoga teacher offering a variety of yoga classes. I have practiced Yoga and Meditation for 27 years and have been teaching Hatha Yoga for 15 years. My yoga draws from the different styles and traditions I have been taught over the years, a rich tapestry of knowledge and skills I wish to share in my classes.

Yoga makes me feel inspired and connected to the flow and rhythm of life. I am grateful for the teachers that have shared their knowledge and wisdom with me.

Deep Rest Yoga (Restorative Yoga)

Deep Rest Yoga is the ultimate gift of relaxation and deep stillness, and can be used for those times when you feel weak, fatigued, or stressed from lifes demands or to maintain a calm and relaxed state of being.

A Deep Rest practice consists of yoga poses, pranayama, breath awareness exercises and mudras.

The parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) is activated during restorative yoga. Simply by breathing in through the nose and out through the nose, calms the reactive mind allowing the sympathetic nervous system (SNS) to switch off and the PNS to switch on.

The restorative yoga - Deep Rest techniques help take the nervous system out of the "flight, fight or freeze" response, relaxing and calming the adrenals, the endocrine system and therefore regulating hormones.

To do this props are used to firstly support the body so no strain or striving occurs, yet you can hold any posture anywhere from 1 min to 30 mins or more (once experienced). Specific breath and mind awareness is applied before and during the pose. In doing so, we are alternately stimulating the body to relax, rest and restore, moving towards balance.

Everyone will benefit from this yoga. Restorative Yoga is deeply nourishing and may help with adrenal fatigue, stress and other related dis-eases. You'll find that this practive is great for those times when you feel run down or tired from day to day living, recovering from illness or injury. or for those of you who find other styles of yoga too difficult, Restorative Yoga is for you!

Group Yoga Classes

Regular Yoga classes are a great way to learn the fundamentals of Yoga, build fitness and strength, lower stress, and to meet like minded people. It is a little bit of time just for you to explore Yoga and your re-connection to your body, mind and breath. When you couple that with a regular home pratice, things start to change.

Private Classes

Donna offers private sessions either ongoing or as a one off to help you establish a regular practice or to work on a particular aspect of your practice Private classes are for one hour. $60 for one person, $90 for two, $120 for three.

Gentle/Relaxation Yoga

The gentle yoga classes are open to all students and focus on nurturing, healing and rejuvenating the body and mind. They include gentle movements, breathing, relaxation and some meditation. The classes help to release built up stress and tension, and can be a great option for those returning to practice from injury or those just wanting to take some quiet gentle time for themselves. Relaxation pose is a practice of deep relaxation where you are systematically guided to release the body and mind. A great way to end a class.

General Yoga

The general class is hatha based class and is suitable for most students. It includes postures (asana), breathing (pranayama), relaxation and can include meditation. The general class offers various levels of postures to cater for the variety of students. Bendigo Yoga recommends the gentle class for people who have not tried Yoga before.

Deep Rest (Restorative Yoga)

A regular practice of Deep Rest can be a fabulous way to lower stress when you feel overwhelmed, and as a preventive medicine. It changes the balance of the nervous system and reduces muslce tension. The Deep Rest poses bring a sense of profound relaxation by letting the props hold you in the yoga poses. It helps you breathe more deeply, slowly and regularly. All poses are restful, since most are lying down and it requires so little effort to stay in the pose. We conclude with a yoga nidra which not just relaxes the body and mind but also the nervous system and the subconscious mind in a systematic fashion.


Reiki is an alternative name for the Usui Method of Natural Healing.It is a Japanese word fo two syllables, which mean:

REI “ray”, Universal Spiit or essence
KI “key”, Life Energy, Light or Chi

Reiki “ray-key” means Universal Spirit of Life or Universal Life Energy, this energy that is all around and within us. This life energy can become out of balance due to stress from daily life, creating energy blocks within the body, showing up as physical illnesses and/or mental stress.

When someone receives Reiki, they are brought back to balance and harmony with the universal energy. This harmony is able to reach them in their smallest of cells, making them whole and healthy again, this in turns encourages the natural ability of the receiver to heal themselves.

Reiki does not heal. Rather, it empowers the receiver to take the next most appropriate step in growth and development for their highest soul purpose. This is usually to re-address energy imbalances and activate natural repair mechanisms.

How does Reiki work

Reiki accelerates the body’s ability to heal physical and mental ailments and assists you to correct imbalances of the mind and spirit, which can lead to disease. It opens you to the pleasure of taking responsibility for your own life and to receive and accept the joy of relaxed and balanced wellness. When someone receives a treatment of Reiki the practitioner lays their hands on various parts of the body. The receiver may feel a kind of flowing sensation, often combined with warmth or tingling.

What’s Involed in a Reiki Treatment

This treatment is about tuning into your energy & seeing where the energy blocks are, and assisting you in releasing any blocks/patterns. Energy Healings are designed to bring you back to your Heart’s connection, aligning you with your essential self, cleansing & grounding your energy into the here & now.

With the support of Reiki, breathing techinques, crystals and aromatherapy, we work towards the natural connection of ease, clarity and balance.
